Departing from Rawson Port, this guided boat ride offers the chance to see the charming Commerson’s dolphins, also known as Patagonian dolphins. The tour begins by sailing through the mouth of the Chubut River, where you’ll encounter sea lions and various coastal bird species, as well as a view of the iconic yellow fishing fleet of Rawson. Once out at sea, the search begins for these unique black-and-white dolphins, which can only be seen along the Patagonian coast. This tour is available from July to December and lasts approximately one and a half hours.
Your tour begins at the Rawson Port dock, where you’ll board a boat for a scenic journey. As you navigate the mouth of the Chubut River, keep an eye out for one-hair sea lions resting on the shore and a variety of coastal bird species. You’ll also pass Rawson’s iconic yellow fishing fleet. Then, the boat heads out into the Patagonian sea in search of the Commerson’s dolphins. With their striking black-and-white coloring, these small, fast-swimming dolphins are a rare sight, only found in this region. After enjoying this unique wildlife encounter, the boat returns to the dock.
