Florentino Ameghino Dam is one of the most distinctive inland day trips from Trelew. The usual route follows National Route 25 west toward Las Chapas and then takes the signed access road to the dam and village. The main approach is paved, but travelers should check road reports, fuel range and current access conditions before departure. Mobile coverage can be inconsistent outside the towns.
