Punta Cuevas: Welsh-settlement history beside the sea
Punta Cuevas is the natural historical goal of the full walk. The area is associated with the Welsh landing of 1865 and preserves the landscape context of Puerto Madryn’s beginnings. The Museo del Desembarco provides the historical interpretation, but opening days and hours can change; verify them locally before relying on an interior visit.
The terrain around the historical park is less uniformly flat than the central promenade. Wear shoes with grip and stay on established paths, especially near eroded edges. This is also a good point to decide whether to finish, take a taxi back or add the elevated viewpoints.
