Self-drive
You can drive the recognized coastal road south from Puerto Madryn to public areas such as Playa Paraná and the Punta Loma entrance when conditions allow. Continuing onto unmarked tracks, dunes or estancia roads is different. A line on a navigation app is not proof of public access.
Before continuing beyond Punta Loma, ask the Puerto Madryn Tourism Office or reserve staff which route is open to general vehicles. Turn around at a gate or sign. Avoid soft sand, wet clay and cliff-edge tracks, even in a 4×4.
Hiking or cycling
Guided hiking and cycling products may use authorized routes. Independent attempts require special caution because of distance, exposure, limited water, mobile gaps and property boundaries.
